Honeywell designed the 1080HD Handlebar Controls platform after talking to several customers and conducting significant competitive reviews. Research identified strong desires for easily customizable designs that have low up-front tooling costs, that enhance safety and that increase design flexibility. Customers described design flexibility as the ability to easily add or remove vehicle functions, attachments and accessories. This flexibility enables customers to serve multiple end-user segments at low incremental cost.
